Share Her Story: Alum Dr. Dominique Eugene on Significant Women in Her Life
Clinical Psychology Program alum Dominique Eugene, PhD’18, is one of the alumni panelists at the Call across the Globe: Gender Equity Today for Sustainability Tomorrow. It’s by coincidence that Fielding’s Anniversary falls on the time when we celebrate Women’s History Month and International Women’s Day. Yet, we are proud to honor women and their achievements in March and always. As part of the university’s activities in March, we have invited our community to participate in the “Share Her Story” campaign to amply the stories of women and share their names with our global community.
Dr. Eugene is an Institute for Social Innovation Fellow. She currently resides in Cape Town, South Africa, where she holds a position as a Global Health Fellow on behalf of Harvard University, Boston University, Northwestern University, and University of New Mexico (HBNU). Her career has focused on children, family, and community well-being in low-mid income countries. She is a clinical psychologist, LMFT, a registered play therapist and supervisor, a certified trauma specialist, an infant-family and early childhood mental health specialist, and a nutritional therapy practitioner.
Dr. Eugene shared: “On the photo from left to right are Dr. Myisha Driver-Woods, who has been a great support for many years and helped keep me sane on many occasions; me, persistent, tenacious, determined; my auntie, Gladys, who has been so encouraging, supportive and always insisted I live life to the fullest throughout my life and she recently transitioned in January; and my mom, Germaine Castre who has taught me how to survive despite the odds.”
We can’t wait to hear from Dr. Eugene about how Fielding influenced her leadership. Please join us by signing up for the Call across the Globe today!
