Fielding to Participate in the Pacifica Graduate Institute Alumni Association’s BEAM Career Fair on Sept. 28
Fielding Graduate University is participating in Pacifica Graduate Institute Alumni Association (PGIAA)’s Bridging Education, Ambition & Meaningful Work (BEAM) Career Fair. The fair will take place on Thursday, Sept. 28 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. PT at Pacifica’s Ladera Lane Campus.
“As an exhibitor this year, we appreciate every opportunity to partner with Pacifica Graduate Institute,” said Erica Fichter, Director of Recruitment and Admission. “We also want to work with students and alums in our Santa Barbara community as they continue with their purpose-driven work and career plans. Career development is a lifelong process, and we cannot overstate its importance to Fielding and to our community as well. This event will not only be insightful for attendees but will help Fielding continue to work together with Pacifica and our community to address some of the most pressing career needs and otherwise.”
This career fair will provide identity-centered career programming to support alums, current students, and the local community. In turn, it will help individuals from different backgrounds on their journeys to find meaningful work. Each sponsor will help attendees explore and plan for their futures.
The event will also feature breakfast and lunch, networking opportunities, guest speakers, workshops, and an intention tea ceremony.
“The title of our fair (BEAM — Bridging Education, Ambition, and Meaningful Work) symbolizes a holistic approach to career development,” said Dianne Travis-Teague, PGIAA’s Senior Director of Alumni Relations. “The day features a keynote speaker, Dr. Lisa Wong, Director of Los Angeles County Mental Health and a Pacifica PsyD alum. Additionally, we have planned several workshops designed to empower and encourage consideration of all the options as you find “meaningful work.” We have learned that building a network-village for our students and alums is vital as they embark on careers. We rounded out the fair with financial planning, career advisors, resume writers, networking with LinkedIn, and more. Our goal is to bring Education, Ambition, and Meaningful Work to our students, alums, and the greater community!”
Pacifica Graduate Institute and Fielding Graduate University have collaborated in the past, most recently for Juneteenth 2023. The two institutions have an established history, as Pacifica’s founder Stephen Aizenstat, Ph.D., was one of Fielding’s first graduates (Clinical Psychology). Through continued partnerships, both institutions believe in building a strong community together in Santa Barbara and beyond.
