May has been a busy 50th Anniversary celebration month for the Fielding community! On May 1, 2024, President Katrina S. Rogers, PhD, hosted a delegation from Keystone Group (Shanghai), Inc., at the historic Cosmos Club in Washington, D.C. The delegation was led by Fielding alum and Keystone’s Board Chair Emeritus Marjorie Woo, Ph.D., Board Chair Amanda Shang, and Board Member Yin Tian Ran, Ph.D. Together, they signed a memorandum of understanding to affirm their ongoing partnership. WSCUC Commission Approves Fielding, Rowan Education Partners Affiliation

Dear Fielding community,   The WASC Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC) has approved the affiliation between Fielding and Rowan Education Partners. Rowan Education Partners is an initiative of Rowan University, a well-respected university in New Jersey.  WSCUC’s responsibilities include establishing WSCUC Standards for institutional quality and processes for review, acting on accreditation status of individual institutions, and setting the strategic goals of WSCUC as a higher education organization committed to excellence, equity, and the public good.    This affiliation, while important for our future, means that Fielding remains an independent, nonprofit educational institution with our own financial and academic autonomy. Fielding is [...]

The National Native American Hall of Fame inducted Patricia Zell, J.D., secretary of Fielding’s Board of Trustees, into this year’s slate of nine honorees, on Nov. 5 at the First American Museum in Oklahoma City. Patricia Zell, J.D. Zell, who is of Arapaho/Navajo descent, is a partner in Zell & Cox Law, P.C., where she specializes in law affecting American Indians, Alaskan Natives and Native Hawaiians. New Special Edition of the Journal of Community Engagement and Scholarship (JCES) inspired by Fielding features work by–and about–military connected scholars. Fielding alumnus Dr. Bart Buechner credits the Fielding Veterans Connections group, and the Fielding Graduate University Press monograph, as inspirations for a newly released journal edition that highlights collaborative with, about, and for emerging scholars with connections to the military and veterans communities.
