Alum Beth Fisher-Yoshida, Ph.D. (Ph.D. in Human and Organizational Systems, ’00, and Certificate of Specialization in Professional Sociological Practice, ’98) is a keynote speaker at the New York City Negotiation Conference 2022 on Nov. 11.
The Schranner Negotiation Institute’s Negotiation Conference brings together world-renowned negotiation experts from multiple sectors, including business, politics, law enforcement, sports, and media. The Schranner Negotiation Institute’s mission is to bring the global negotiation community together. It is the leading organization supporting difficult negotiations.
Dr. Fisher-Yoshida currently serves as Vice Chair of Faculty and Program Director, Negotiation and Conflict Resolution, at Columbia University. She is also CEO at Fisher Yoshida International, LLC. Her goal, to correlate with a global and multicultural focus, is to create a better world by supporting people to collaboratively work together through effective communication and negotiate for personal and professional benefits.
Together with other Fielding alums, Dr. Fisher-Yoshida is involved in the CMM Institute for Personal and Social Evolution. There she leads AC4 CMMI Graduate Fellows Program. The fellowships are designed to support and nurture junior scholars and practitioners in their learning and using a communications technique originally developed by late Fielding faculty member Barnett Pierce, Ph.D.
In 2022, Dr. Fisher-Yoshida’s article, “Transformative Learning and Its Relevance to Coaching,” was featured in the International Handbook of Evidence-Based Coaching Theory, Research, and Practice. It focuses on transformational potential and foundational elements made possible through a coaching-client relationship.
