Strategic Plan Frameworks

Informing the work of the Fielding Graduate University DEI strategic plan are the following frameworks:

  • Collective Impact: Fielding Graduate University commits to building a co-generative community through collective impact–an intentional way of working together and sharing information for the purpose of solving problems.
  • Inclusive Excellence: Fielding Graduate University commits to utilizing Inclusive Excellence as the academic standard by which diversity and excellence are not mutually exclusive.
  • Anti-Oppression Framework: Fielding Graduate University commits to being an anti-oppression institution that seeks social justice through systems change and knowledge production.
  • L.A.C.E. framework (Love, Authenticity, Courage, Empathy): LACE, or Love, Authenticity, Courage, and Empathy, is a model for connecting people with values to bring about change.
  • Decolonizing Methods: Fielding Graduate University commits to re-framing DEI issues through a decolonizing lens that allows for greater inquiry regarding systems change and thus a broader range of sustainable solutions.
  • Targeted Universalism: Fielding Graduate University commits to engaging the complexity of diversity and the broad range of human lived experience through a framework that is simultaneously universal and global, as well as targeted to specific community needs.
  • Inclusive Design: Fielding Graduate University commits to Inclusive Design as a standard that enables and draws on the full range of human diversity in providing solutions and creating greater access.
