Eleven faculty members from the School of Leadership Studies were honored Wednesday for theirs years of service to Fielding.
From Tojo Thatchenkery with five years to Rich Appelbaum with 35 years, the instructors were celebrated during the morning community meeting at Winter Session in Santa Barbara, Calif.
Valerie Bentz, with 25 years, said she came to Fielding to find “a whole crew of creative and somewhat rebellious people to work with.”
Upon accepting his award, Appelbaum quoted from the music of his youth–the Grateful Dead and then Paul Simon:
“What a long, strange trip it’s been,” he said. “And after changes upon changes, we are more or less the same.”
